In December of 2002, Big Brothers and Big Sisters amalgamated to form Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area. Both agencies were in the community for over 30 years each, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the area of mentoring children and youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area is a registered charity and a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area is a member agency of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC), the leading child and youth serving organization which has provided mentoring programs across the country for over 80 years. As a national organization it provides services and programs to 190 member agencies serving more than 300 communities across Canada, assisting the agencies with their hands-on work with parents, children and volunteers. Ranging from staff training workshops to our leading Child Safety Program. BBBSC works diligently to ensure program quality is superior in all parts of the country.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area remains accountable to the families and communities we serve through our Board of Directors' governance and through our reporting of requirements, agency reviews and the operating standards set by BBBSC.
